Data controller

The data controller is the publisher of the MoneyGes app. For any question about data protection, write to contact@moneyges.com.

Data collected when you create an account

When you create a MoneyGes account, we collect only what the service needs to work:

• your email address;
• a hashed password, never stored in plain text;
• the financial data you enter yourself: accounts, transactions, categories, budgets, debts and receivables, contributions, scheduled payments.

What MoneyGes does not collect

The app is designed to stay frugal with data. It does not collect:

• no aggregated banking data: MoneyGes connects to no bank account;
• no payment card details or banking credentials;
• no location or contact data from your phone;
• no data sold to third parties;
• no data used for targeted advertising.

What you declare when signing up

Creating an account requires an email address, a password and your country of residence. The country determines the right to withdraw referral earnings: it is recorded as you declare it and cannot be changed in the app.

If you sign up with another user's referral code, the link between your account and theirs is recorded. It exposes neither your financial data nor your email address to your referrer.

Purposes and legal bases

The data you enter is used to provide MoneyGes features: organising your accounts, tracking transactions, managing budgets, debts and contributions, scheduling payments and reading your statistics.

Processing relies on performance of the contract once you create an account, and on your consent when you choose to enter data. Service-related messages rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working.

The referral programme involves a distinct processing operation: the link between referrer and referred friend, and the count of signups brought in, serve only to compute earnings and pay them out.

Recipients and processors

Your data is hosted and processed with technical subprocessors handling hosting and the database.

These providers only access data to perform their services and are contractually bound to protect it. No data is sold, rented or exchanged.

Transfers outside the European Union

Some technical subprocessors may be located outside the European Union. Where that is the case, we rely on the appropriate safeguards set out by the GDPR, in particular standard contractual clauses, to ensure an equivalent level of protection.

Retention periods

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, the associated data is permanently erased within thirty days, unless the law requires longer retention.

Server logs and diagnostic data are kept for a limited time and anonymised.

Security

Traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit over HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Access to data is limited to authorised people bound by confidentiality obligations.

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss and alteration.

Your rights and how to exercise them

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

• right of access: obtain a copy of the data we hold;
• right to rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• right to erasure: request deletion of your account and associated data;
• right to portability: receive your data in a structured, readable format;
• right to object: object to processing based on legitimate interests;
• right to restriction: ask us to temporarily restrict processing;
• right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority.

Cookies, audience measurement, changes and contact

The website may set cookies strictly necessary to its operation, and use anonymised audience measurement. This technical data does not identify you personally.

We may update this policy. The update date then changes and, for any significant change, we will tell you in the app or on the site.
